An Bruachan (Irish for ‘Little Brook’) is located on the outskirts of Kenmare on the Killarney Road. Situated on an acre of landscaped gardens with the Finnihy River forming one of the boundaries. A privately owned plantation of mixed matured trees lies to the far side of the river binding the gardens on an additional two sides.
The bed and breakfast is 4**** Fáilte Ireland approved. Hair dryer, television, tea and coffee making facilities and Wifi access available in each room, ironing
board available on request.
Guests are invited to sit outside by the edge of the river while having their tea/coffee. The guest lounge has a wood burning and coal fire to keep you warm when the temperature drops. There is also a library of reference books available on travel and local history and if you just want to chill out there is also a selection of board games to play.
Hostess, Julia O’Connor, likes to give visitors a genuine Irish welcome with a pot of tea or coffee on their arrival. She is also an active walker and cyclist and will be happy to help guests plan their walks or cycling routes should they wish to hire a bicycle in Kenmare. Maps of the locality are available for guests to borrow for the day. To set yourself up for all the activities offered by the local area, Julia provides you with a hearty breakfast comprising local produce and home-grown herbs.
Walkers weary after their walk/cycle are offered a complimentary lift into Kenmare for their evening meal.
